It's come to my attention that the Audio page is disabled.  Has anybody had a problem with this?  Please comment so I can fix it correctly.  Thanks ;)

There are no problems on my side. I will let you know if I ever find any but it works fine for me.

I don't have any problems. I don't visit it too often, but the last time I did, it was fine.

BTW, in answer to your previous question:

Yes, I believe in drinking, in that I believe it exists. ;) But I don't think it is right, holy, or godly to get drunk. The book of Proverbs talks about giving wine to the sick to help them cope with pain, and the Bible never specifically says never to drink alchohol.

I believe that it is wrong to get drunk on alchohol, as Paul specifically commands, but I don't believe it's wrong to drink in moderation, but you definitely shouldn't do it if you're under 21 (because of our laws). My pastor believes that it's okay to drink a little wine or champagne or something at special events, but it is wrong to get addicted to it, and give your body over to your lust for it.

I have never drunk or touched a drop of (drinking) alchohol, and neither has my dad, and I don't ever intend to 1. because I hear it tastes like turtle spit, and 2. because I don't even want to give my carnal mind and body the chance to get addicted to it.

Hopefully that answers your question well.

Proverbs 20:1--Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise. (NIV)

Proverbs 20:1--Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. (KJV)

This verse, whichever version you prefer, shows the consequences of excessive drinking. Wine will mock you in the end because of its damage to your body, and beer/strong drink brawls within your system, raging against your regular body functions. Whoever gives themselves away to the drinking of them is not wise.

I don't believe that this forbids the drinking of alchohol, but it does give fair warning that it is not smart to give yourself to the drinking of them. If the drinking is done in moderation and with the knowledge that if you get drunk you are sinning, I believe that it is not a sin.

It is not a good idea to introduce your body to those kinds of drinks, because it is one step toward addiction and drunkenness and debauchery, but it isn't a sin.

I think it all comes back to this verse in 1 Corinthians 6:12--12 “Everything is permissible for me”—but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me”—but I will not be mastered by anything.

I think that that verse is pretty clear, especially if applied to the subject of drinking. But I'd appreciate hearing what you believe.

Luke ( March 31, 2011 at 11:08 AM )

But that verse didn't say anything about excessive drinking. Just about alcohol in general. You say that drunkeness is wrong, but who's to say how much is drunk. God doesn't say, so we have to be very careful. Some people get addicted from their first drink. And they fall into great sin when they're drunk. It's just a good idea to stay away from all alcohol.
